In einer der ältesten zugelassenen Destillerien Schottlands wird seit mehreren Jahrhunderten Whisky gebrannt. Der Oban Highland 14 wird in klei-
nen Chargen aus Wasser, gemälzter Gerste und Hefe in Kupferbrennblasen hergestellt – dieses Verfahren macht ihn zum Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Durch das Zusammentreffen von Land und Wasser, am Ort der Destillerie, bekommt der Whisky eine salzig-maritime Note, die ihn zu etwas ganz
Besonderem macht.

Über Oban

Die Oban Destillerie wurde 1794 von den Brüdern John und Hugh Stevenson gegründet und ist heute mit nur zwei Töpfen eine der kleinsten Destil-
lerien Schottlands, die auch heute noch besichtigt werden kann. Der Whisky reift vor Ort in Sherry und Bourbon Fässern. Die Destillerie liegt an der
Westküste Schottlands und ihr berühmtester Whisky ist der 14 Jahre gereifte Oban Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

A combination of light smoke, medium richness and appetising spice
Appearance: Olive gold
Nose: Rich sweetness and fruits – oranges, lemons and pears, with sea-salt and peaty smokiness
Palate: Mouth-filling late autumn fruits – dried figs and honey-sweet spices; followed by a smoky malty dryness
Finish: Long, smooth-sweet finish with oak-wood, dryness and a grain of salt

IWSC Awards Tasting Note: Big open malty nose with trace of smoke with ripe stone fruit and some tropical notes on a seasidy background. More ripe peach in the mouth with spice and vanilla. Well rounded and balanced. Some toffee notes lead into the finish.
